Today, it is debatable whether students of universities should be given freedom to choose their own subjects or they should only be allowed to study subjects related to specific disciplines like science and technology which are relevant in the future. Both views are valid at some points.

Education is very essential to the growth and development for every individual. It is one of the contributory factors in the success of one's ability and achievement in life. Most often than not, going to university is a pre-requisite to make one's life better, whether it is a diploma or a degree, it is very important for every graduate as they will occupy different social roles in the society after graduation. Subjects within the studies are required to take, more specifically, for the completion of their course works. At this point, university students are directed to take courses that are in demand that would significantly contribute to the economic work force and nation building as a whole.

Meawhile, if the students are given the opportunity to selct subjects that interest or motivate them, there is a great tendency for professional and personal development among the graduates. However, they should be given proper career guidance to direct them to the programs that fit them most. Still, educating the youth with their choices or preferences shall be given importance so that they would be able to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently after graduation. In addition, their interests are of great importance in choosing their career paths.

Whether the subjects are preferred by the students or required to take by the university, it depends upon the goals of a person whose competencies are potentilly developed in schools. Moreover, universities shall review and adjust their programs if the students are required to take the subjects which should be essential to their career development. Students should find significance on what they are learning such as giving them meaningful tasks to do. Aside from this, students shall be given varied preferences among the subjects offered in a particular program so that they are still in the same goal and directions with the university.

Task Response6.5
Evaluation
The essay addresses the task and discusses both views, providing a balanced perspective. It also includes an opinion, as required. However, the arguments are somewhat general and lack specific examples or detailed analysis to fully support the points made.
Examples
For instance, the essay mentions that students should be given career guidance but does not elaborate on how this could be implemented or its potential impact.
How to Improve
To improve, provide more specific examples and detailed explanations to strengthen the arguments. For example, discuss real-world scenarios or data to illustrate the benefits of allowing students to choose their subjects or focusing on science and technology.
Coherence & Cohesion6.5
Evaluation
The essay is logically organized, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, some ideas are not fully developed, and transitions between sentences and paragraphs could be smoother.
Examples
The phrase 'Education is very essential to the growth and development for every individual' is somewhat disconnected from the main argument. Additionally, the transition between discussing career guidance and students' interests is abrupt.
How to Improve
Use clearer topic sentences and linking phrases to improve the flow of ideas. For example, use phrases like 'On the other hand' or 'Furthermore' to connect ideas more effectively.
Lexical Resource6.5
Evaluation
The essay demonstrates a good range of vocabulary, but some word choices are repetitive or slightly awkward. There is an attempt to use academic language, but it is not always precise.
Examples
Phrases like 'very essential' and 'most often than not' are either redundant or incorrect. Additionally, 'potentilly developed' contains a spelling error.
How to Improve
Expand the range of vocabulary by using more precise and varied word choices. Avoid redundancy and check for spelling errors. For example, replace 'very essential' with 'crucial' or 'indispensable.'
Grammatical Range & Accuracy6
Evaluation
The essay demonstrates a range of grammatical structures, but there are frequent errors in sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and word forms. These errors occasionally affect clarity.
Examples
Errors include 'Meawhile' (spelling), 'selct' (spelling), and 'Subjects within the studies are required to take' (awkward phrasing). Additionally, 'whose competencies are potentilly developed in schools' is unclear and grammatically incorrect.
How to Improve
