Task Response 6
Evaluation
The essay addresses the task and provides a clear position on the topic. It discusses the benefits of choosing a career early and provides some examples to support the argument. However, the response lacks depth and balance, as it does not sufficiently explore alternative perspectives or other ways to achieve job satisfaction.
Examples
The essay mentions benefits such as gaining experience, economic solvency, and reaching career goals but does not elaborate on other factors like work-life balance, passion, or workplace environment.
How to Improve
To improve, provide a more balanced discussion by exploring other ways to achieve job satisfaction, such as pursuing hobbies, maintaining a healthy work-life balance, or finding a job aligned with personal interests. Additionally, expand on the examples provided to strengthen the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion 5.5
Evaluation
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the ideas are not always logically connected. Transitions between sentences and paragraphs are sometimes abrupt, and the essay lacks a clear progression of ideas.
Examples
Phrases like 'To begin with' and 'Moreover' are used, but the connections between ideas are not always clear. For example, the transition from discussing economic solvency to students in specific fields feels disjointed.
How to Improve
Use cohesive devices more effectively to link ideas and ensure a logical flow. For instance, explain how one idea leads to another and use linking phrases like 'as a result,' 'in contrast,' or 'on the other hand' to improve coherence.
Lexical Resource 5
Evaluation
The essay demonstrates a limited range of vocabulary, with frequent repetition of words and phrases. Some word choices are inappropriate or incorrect, which affects clarity and precision.
Examples
Words like 'satisfy,' 'solvent,' and 'experience' are repeated multiple times. Incorrect word forms such as 'compansation' (compensation), 'persue' (pursue), and 'chellenging' (challenging) are present.
How to Improve
Expand your vocabulary by learning synonyms and collocations related to the topic. For example, instead of 'satisfy,' use 'fulfilling' or 'rewarding.' Practice using more precise and varied language to express ideas clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy 5
Evaluation
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including incorrect verb forms, subject-verb agreement issues, and sentence structure problems. These errors reduce clarity and impact the overall quality of the writing.
Examples
Errors include 'this decision support them,' 'they can able to earn,' and 'which lead them reach at the peak of success.' Additionally, there are issues with article usage and sentence fragments.
How to Improve
Focus on improving basic grammar, such as subject-verb agreement, verb forms, and sentence structure. Practice writing complex sentences with correct punctuation and grammar. Consider seeking feedback from a teacher or using grammar-checking tools to identify and correct errors.
