Detailed Criteria Feedback

AI-powered analysis for each scoring criterion

Task Response 5
Evaluation
The essay attempts to discuss both positive and negative aspects of living alone, but the stance is vague and the arguments lack depth. Key points are mentioned but not fully explained or supported with clear examples. The conclusion is confusing and does not effectively summarise the writer's position.
Examples
The writer states 'living alone build self-reliance it make allow them express their productivity and creativity' but does not elaborate on how this is achieved. The discussion of drawbacks like 'mental pressure' and 'loneliness' is also superficial.
How to Improve
Clearly state your opinion in the introduction and maintain it throughout. Develop each point with specific reasons and real-world examples. Ensure the conclusion reflects your main argument and provides a clear judgement on whether the trend is positive or negative.
Coherence and Cohesion 5
Evaluation
The essay has a basic structure with introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the flow is disrupted by abrupt transitions and poorly connected ideas. Paragraphs lack clear topic sentences, and the use of cohesive devices is limited and often inaccurate.
Examples
Phrases like 'To commence with' and 'one the other hand' are used, but the second body paragraph mixes multiple drawbacks without logical sequencing. The final sentence 'we have to adapt' is incomplete and does not link back to the discussion.
How to Improve
Use clear topic sentences to introduce each paragraph. Employ a range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'in contrast', 'as a result') correctly. Organise ideas within paragraphs from general to specific, and ensure a logical progression from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource 5
Evaluation
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors and inappropriate word choices. There is an attempt to use less common words (e.g., 'cognitive', 'self-reliance'), but these are often misspelled or used incorrectly, reducing clarity.
Examples
Spelling errors: 'congnitive' (cognitive), 'dificults' (difficult), 'asist' (assist), 'professnoal' (professional), 'loniless' (loneliness). Word choice issues: 'huge-level of probem' (serious problem), 'deep sense of frustration' (intense frustration).
How to Improve
Expand your vocabulary by reading academic articles and practising synonym use. Check spelling carefully, especially for common academic words. Avoid repeating the same words (e.g., 'people', 'alone') – use alternatives like 'individuals', 'residents', 'solo dwellers'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy 4.5
Evaluation
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect comprehension. Sentence structures are often incomplete or incorrectly joined, and there are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions. More complex sentences are attempted but poorly constructed.
Examples
Errors: 'when individuals live in alone excessive time' (when individuals live alone for extended periods); 'it boost his problem solving skill' (it boosts their problem-solving skills); 'if they would like to any urgent situation no can asist them' (if they face an urgent situation, no one can assist them).
How to Improve
Review basic grammar rules, especially subject-verb agreement, use of articles (a/an/the), and correct prepositions. Practice writing compound and complex sentences using connectors like 'although', 'because', and 'which'. Proofread your work to catch errors in tense and word order.
