To my mind this is more of a positive development than negative. The main disadvantage of this lifestyle is the increasing need in more territory. To build a new house where everyone can live separately, woods will need to be cut down. This will have a negative affect on the environment. Although from the solely social perspective this is an understandable and acceptable way of living. Nowadays people are not forced to be social butterflies, standoffish behaviour became more common after the global quarantine. Despite the fact that people are social beings, lonliness is not a disaster. When living alone it is a lot easier to choose whether to stay at home or socialise today. Living with someone, no matter family or friends, can often lead to misunderstanding and arguments. The image of an ideal way of living can be completely different between two people, even if they are related. Different interests and lifestyle can make it hard to find a compromise and not interrupt eachother's day all the time. Besides, speaking from personal experience, certain people make it impossible to live peacefully. As a way to prevent constant irritation and provide quiet, living alone is the best. This solution guarantees free will, making it easier to arrange everything in a way that will be comfortable.
To summarise, everyone deserves to live with comfort, no matter if it is constant company and socialisation or peaceful and quiet lonliness. Opting to live alone is not a catastrophy, but simply a way to find comfort.
