Write at least 250 words.
Score Breakdown
IELTS Writing Band Scores (1–9)
Summary: The essay adequately addresses the task by presenting a clear view that living alone is a negative development, with relevant arguments for both sides. It meets the minimum word count. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'belive', 'indipendence', 'contrubutes') and a missing article ('a negative development'), which slightly lower the lexical and grammatical scores. Coherence and cohesion are strong, with a logical structure and effective use of linking words.

in some recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of people choosing to live alone in many countries. While this trend may offer certain advantages, I belive it is largely a negative development due to its social and psychological consequences.
On the one hand, living alone can provide individuals with greater indipendence and freedom. People are able to make their own decisions without compromise, which can be especially beneficial for young professionals and students. For instance, they can organize their daily routines according to their preferences and focus more effectively on their career or studies. In addition, living alone may encourage self reliance, as individuals must manage their finances, household tasks, and personal responsibility indipendently.
However, despite these benefits, the drawbacks of this trend are more significant. One major concern is social isolation. Humans are naturally social beings, and living alone for extended periods can lead to loneliness and even mental health issues such as depression. Furthermore, this lifestyle may weaken family bonds and reduce the sense of community in society. In the long run, this could result in a more disconnected population.
Another issue is the economic impact. Living alone often requires more resources, such as housing and utilities, which can increase living costs. This not only places financial pressure on individuals but also contrubutes to inefficient use of resources at a societal level.
In conclusion, although living alone offers independence and personal growth, its negatve effects on mental well being and social relationships outweigh the advantages. Therefore, I believe this is negative development overall.
