There is a common view these days on whether universety students should have the ability to choose their own subjects or whether they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future.
The first point of view say that student should only study subjects that related to their college major because anything other than that is a useless thing and it saves time and effort on the students in many ways like instead of studying three or four years they make it 2 years to gain there diploma and it will raise there grades because making them focus only on three or four main subjects instead of more will make them actually enjoy studying ,Lets take for example law students most of them find that university should drop subjects like computer science .
The second point of view see that students should study subjects that are may be helpful in the future such as those related to science and technology especially that nowdays ai is conquered all fields every college major should use it in there benifits like in med university and in engineering and many other subjects because it will help humanity in many big ways in the future .
On my opinion i think universitys should only be allowing students to study helpful subject that will come with a benifits and devolopement for our race race in the future and it will come handy later on .
