In these days, many people have different opinion about university subjects. Some people think students should choose any subjects they want, while others say they must study only subjects which are useful in the future, like science and technology. I will discuss both sides and give my opinion.

On the one hand, students should have the freedom to choose their own subject because they know what they like more than other people. If a student love art or history, it is not good to force him to study engineering or computer. This can make him unhappy and maybe he will fail in the university. Also, when students study something they enjoy, they can work hard and become succesful in this field. For example, many people who study music or design can also find good jobs if they are talented. So, it is not always true that only science subjects are useful.

On the other hand, some people believe that students should study subjects which help them in the future. This is because the world need more doctors, engineers and technology workers. These jobs are very important for the country and also they can give students better salary. If many students choose subjects only because they like it, maybe they will not find job after graduation. For this reason, parents and goverments may think universities should push students to study practical subjects.

In my opinion, I think students should be allowed to choose their subjects, but they should also listen to advice from university and family. It is not fair to make all students study science because not everyone are good at it. However, students must think about future jobs before they decide.

In conclusion, both ideas has advantages. Useful subjects can help students to get jobs, but choosing favourite subjects is also important. I believe freedom is better, but it should be with good guidance.
