In recent years, ongoing debate about whether" title="Correction: there has been an ongoing debate about whether">there is an ongoing debate whether the university students should have complete freedom tho choose the subjects they wish to study or whether they should encourage to focus on the disciplines that are considered beneficial for their future, particulary science and technology. While both prospectives have valid arguments, I strongly believed students should have right to choose their own academic path.
On the one hand, many people think universities need to focus on more practical subjects such as engineering, computer science, medicines and techinal courses. These areas are important to develop country economically and support technology advancements. for example, scientists and technology experts needed to improve healthcare, create new innovations and resolve environental issues. Therefore, some believe that goverment should mainly invest in subjects that contribute to economic growth.
On the other hand, some argues students should not be forced to learn these subjects. Education is not about only earning money, it is also about of personal interest and intellectual growth. Subjects such as history, art and philosophy help develop creativity and communication skills. These subjects also play impotant rule in preserving culture and understanding society. Futhermore, students are more likely to succed when thry study something they enjoy. If people are forced into field of dislike they lose their motivation and ultimately, increase the chances of failure in future.
In my opinion, students should be free to choose their subjects that atches their ability and interests. While science and technology are extremly important with higher chances of opportunity" title="Correction: opportunity">oppourtunity, society also need creative and thoghtful person. A balanced education system is the best way to produce both skilled professionals and well-rounded individuals.
