Some people argue that students should have freedom to select courses of their own choice while other believe that the university should only allow them to focus on subjects that are crucial in the future. In my own opinion, people should have freedom to decide what they want to study.
On the one hand, if students are allowed to choose what they want to focus on in the future, there are likely to perform well academically and strive for excellence.Being involved in the decision making process can foster a positive attitude towards school work. As a result, individuals are likely to participate more in class and engage actively in group activities. This can create a positive learning environment and increase the motivation towards school work. For example, students who decide their career , are likely to get well-paying jobs and excell in the industry.
On the other hand, universities should allow students to study subjects that are crucial in the future. With the technological advancement, it is significant for them to train adequate people so as to meet demand in the society. While subjects that are related to science and technology are significant, I personally believe" title="Correction: I personally believe">i personally believe that the university should offer a wide range of courses inorder to attract students internationally which increases revenue to the university. Furthermore, other subjects like Arts, Business and Law are equally important and they contribute positively to the economy. Therefore, the university should make sure that there is a balance in terms of the subjects that are offered .
In conclusion, universities should offer a variety of courses to cater for everyone and the students should freely to choose their career so that they can actively engage in the class and achieve their goals.
